Beginning in mid September 2010 our Fall and Winter sale will
commence ( even though our website is being renovated and this blog
is still being constructed!).This year, in addition to offering a
relatively large number of gemstones, parcels of gems and rough
for faceting, and cabochons we will also release some rare
stones and stones of historic importance, rare bookks and
out-of-print editions and new colours of gold alloy and mill
products for jewelry and art applications in which precious
metals and textured metals are desired ( the textured plates are
not limited to gold colors but we are also producing base metal
sheet and plates for use with your own rolling mill, or vacuum
former,etc.. One set of rare stones that we are particularly
pleased to offer is a set of 26 light fuchsia to mauve-ish
rounds approaching 3.5 - 4.2 mm ea. from a pre-Colombian source - or
so we were told at auction when we acquired the sets. .All are
hand cut and calibrated relatively closely as far as girdles, tables,
and other features of any individual stone go. We also obtained
some covellite that is from a Colorado source - which is now
buried under tonnes of concrete highway, never to be mined
again at that location. It is priced accordingly! Oiling
covellite can be done if a deep purple stone rather than its
natural deep Prussian blue tone. as long as it is then sealed with
micro-crystalline wax.
Our intent in offering stones at
all to jewelers is to present high quality material at the
most competitive prices possible. When an item is on sale it is
already priced as low as we can possibly sell it for and as
such, no other terms will be considered and we will not be able
to match others prices should they be lower. Though difficult to
bar potential sales with such strong language, it is far more
honest to reveal the policies we operate with to avoid any i At
times we reveal things regarding the quality or lack thereof
about certain products when it would be more profitable not to
do so again, communicating clear and true information is what
we pride ourselves on and the savings , in terms of repeat
business and good relationships with our account holders is far
more valuable than the loss of a few dollars in profit.
We
invite anyone that does not already have an account with us to
apply for one.The benefits are tangible and we protect your
information as though it were our own.Follow the form on this page
and begin the process today. To take advantage of the sale prices
you need not have an account and in that case, one can purchase
items directly.Having an account does however come with perks
such as reduced shipping rates when possible and deeper discounts
through combining metals when ordering our custom made mill
products and our specialty- Colored Gold Alloys in colors that are
far from common and come in grain, chunk and other forms as well
as fabricated to specification in wire, sheet, and a host of
other possibilities. Our new textured plates are for use in
rolling mills although we offer pre-rolled art sheet made to
special order in a range of colours from our master list.We are ,
for the first time offering copies of "The Colour Atlas" for sale:
this fine book is quite pricey but serves to bridge any
differences in communicating a tone or hue's descriptors so that
, for example when ordering gemstones, or using our gem finding
services a client can ask for a garnet that is colour # 162 on
page "x" so that we are both matching the exact same colour
samples .The pantone system works similarly but this book, and the
very limited number of editions we have been able to locate
are an investment opportunity as well as a viable resource for all
artists and craftsmen that deal with colour palettes in any fashion
or a really smashing gift!.
Client information is not sold,
loaned or compiled as a list and rented or otherwise used for
gain of any kind.We perform in house analysis for marketing
purposes and for purposes of improving blog or website content
and functionality that is relevant to our audiences- whether
individuals, corporate account holders, patrons and professional
metal smiths alike.
Enjoy Autumn!
